Distalization is a conservative method utilised in orthodontics to gain space by moving posterior teeth distally. Commonly used distalisation appliances are pendulum appliances and k-loop appliances. It moves the upper teeth back into the mouth, creating space for the permanent teeth to erupt. They can be intraoral or extraoral.
